To untether you on the android sdk. To walk away at the end of the day to have enough to start exploring and writing your apps. To prepare you start working on your own on the android platform.
To look for co-conspirators in immediate and future efforts
To form a local talent pool
1. Java
2. If you know another object oriented language other than Java such as c++, it shouldn't be too difficult a transition as long as you have the desire to get on with it. It is a fairly easy transition going from c++ to java. The otherway may be a bit thorny. So come on in and you will be an Android programmer.
3. It will help if you have a windows 64 bit laptop. If not I will advise you to go to the android developer site and install the android sdk on your platform of choice.
