About Light

The frequency of a wave is the number of waves that pass a point in a certain amount of time. Waves have certain properties. Frequency is one of the properties. Something that happens again and again is called "frequent". The more "often" somethigng happens the more "frequent" it is. So when waves in an ocean are more frequent or having more frequency they come one after the other very quickly.

The meaning of "transparent" is the ability of materials that transmit nearly all of the light rays that hit them. You can see through transparent material.

The meaning of "translucent" is the ability of materials that let some light rays in but scatter other rays. You can see that some light goes through translucent material.

The meaning of "absorption" is that it occurs when an object takes in or absorbs the light wave. After a light wave is absorbed it becomes a form heat energy.

About Heart

From the 4 presentations I heard today I learned many things about the heart. Somethings I didn't even know. For example, the heart can beat about 80 times per minute and if you take care of your heart then it can beat for 4 billion and 800 million times in 100 years. I also learned that your heart is in the middle of your chest. The blood from your lungs enters through the left side of your heart. The blood that the heart pumps to the lungs is oxygen. It also pumps oxygen to cells and brings carbon dioxide away from the cells. I almost forgot, the heart belongs to the circulatory system. Well that is many things I've learned. Bye!

"Mom! Guess what! We are having a talent show in school!!" I said with excitement to Mom. "That's great honey!" she said in reply. I went down stairs to go ask my mom if I can be in the play. "Sure you can." she answered. "Yes!" I said. "So, honey what are you going to do for the talent show?", Mom asked. I wasn't sure at the time. Should I sing, dance, or act. Finally I figured out what to do. "I know I'll dance!" I told her with excitement. My Mom was very happy for me. When I arrived at school the next day I told all of my friends that I'm goinhg to be in the talent show. All of my friends were happy for me.. "Why are you doing a dance?" One of my friends asked me. I told them I am doing a dance because I have been dancing for 7 years. Also because on my Mom's side of the family we all like to dance and we always dance on special occasions. At the end of the day I went back home and started working on my dance. "Left, right, left, right." "Yes, I'got it" I said with excitement. The very next day I had the talent show. I was up next. "Here comes Kavitha dancing to Rockstar!" When Kavitha was done many many people were clapping. After the show they announced the winners. "The winner is Kavitha." they said. I ran up there and took my prie. The prize was you get to be in a movie with Corbin Bleu, the Rock and one celebrity that you want to be in the movie. "Mom, I won!" I yelled so happy. Finally, the best part was I get to skip the rest of school just to go to Hwaii and shoot a movie! Bye, have fun I know I will.

1. Ideas

The collective list of distinct ideas or questions your writing will set out to explain or answer.

2. Organization

How you have organized your story. The table of contents and chapters are some ways of organizing the story or writing. "flashbacks" in films is another way of organizing an idea.

3. The voice

The voice is the way a story is being told: is it being told from the writers perspective, or is it told from the perspective of one of the characters or is it told as a "dialogue" and interaction between the characters.

Another way voice is being explained is how a writers "personality" or way of writing and his/her beliefs show up in the writing indirectly through style.

4. word choice

How smartly, beautifully, plainly, or however which suits the author the words are employed to convey meaning.

There are certain writers where this is taken to the utmost art form such as the plays of "Shakespear" a truly remarkable achievement.

5. Sentence fluency

This is an extension of how words are crafted into sentences.

6. Conventions

It is about rules and punctuation and grammar.

For example a "haiku" has an exact format and convention and so does a "Sonnet"
